Why do I see the "Welcome to the future home of [site name]" place holder instead of my website?

When your account is first created, it is given a default home page until you create your site.

If you do not feel comfortable doing what is described below, simplly email us and we will do it for you.

To change this to reflect your site instead, you have to edit or create a file called ".htaccess" in the "public_html" folder.
If this file exists on the server, simply download it and edit it with something like Notepad.
If this file does not already exist, simply create a new file with Notepad.

Either way, you'll just need to add "DirectoryIndex [filename.here]" where [filename.here] is the name of the file you want as the main page.

When done, just upload the file back to your "public_html" folder.

*note: Windows will not allow you to create a file that begins with a "."   Just save it as something like htaccess.txt, upload it and then rename it from within your FTP program to ".htaccess".
